The dermatologist-grade brand decided to not only revamp its look, shifting its packaging to a sleek look that complements any top shelf, but the brand also tweaked its line and upgraded its formulas. The cult favourites are here to stay, and 14 new and high-performing targeted treatments made their debut.

If you’re not yet familiar with the brand, just know that its skincare products are effective and their philosophy is all about renewing layers of the skin. NEOSTRATA quite literally means “new” and “layers!”
What did I think?
At the start, I admit I was hard to please. A line of skincare products can only win me over if they tick three boxes: smell, texture and effectiveness. Also, the formulas need to work with my skin before and after the numerous makeup and touch-up sessions I sit through in my professional life.
Since I have sensitive skin, I’ve previously shunned any products with a high concentration of AHAs, but because I knew that this line was only sold by dermatologists in the U.S. (and in pharmacies across Canada!), I was excited to see the results.
Results? After I used the products day and night for a month, my hyperpigmentation and spots —thanks to my time in the sun—were almost gone. My skin is clearer and more luminous. In the mornings, I’m still surprised at how effective the products were!
Although we all have different needs (please don’t be shy to try stuff out, boys!), I’m going to lay out my favourite products. Just know that your local cosmetician is always there to guide you through some choices based on your own needs, whether it’s to revitalize, renew, clarify, correct uneven skin texture, hydrate, brighten or protect.

Take the time
Talking to a skincare specialist is vital if you want to find the products that work best for your skin. I had the privilege of meeting with one of the scientists from the brand who gave me a customized skincare consultation during the launch. Like many women who are running around for work and family obligations, I could have easily relied on my good (and quick) judgment, but I’m not so sure I would have picked the products that were right for me on my own.
